Thousands of kids are faced with cancer every day, so it is important to remember that you are not alone in
your battle. Cancer is simply another obstacle in life to overcome, so it is important that you continue your everyday childhood
life and live it to the fullest. Doctors believe that young cancer patients have a harder time dealing with cancer due
to their age. They have found through research and observation that kids are more likely to fall behind in school and
lack necessary social skills due to their battle with cancer.
This can all be fixed by making proper choices. Cancer doesn't have to stop you from being a kid! Be sure
to stay involved with kids your age. Sometimes your treatment may require you to miss a significant amount of school.
Stay after school and get help from your teacher, or ask your parents to get you a tutor for the subjects that you miss
class for. Don't let cancer hold you back from participating in activities you enjoy. Stay involved in sports, church, and
whatever other activities you decide to participate in. Continue to stay in contact with your friends, and be sure to meet
new people as well! Through this website you will find opportunities to meet other kids like you that experience cancer, and
also get ideas of ways to stay involved in activities.
Remember: We can certainly fight this together!
